Police have arrested Gopal Sarki, 41, of Dullu Municipality-8, Ranukhana on the charge of beating his 71-year-old mother Chandrakala Sarki. The accused was arrested on July 19, 2021.
According to Inspector Indrajeet Sunar of the District Police Office, the victim had filed a complaint against the accused Sarki alleging him of beating her after she denied giving him the amount of her social security allowance on July 18.
Chandrakala told INSEC that her son had asked for half of the 12,000 social security allowance but after she denied it, Gopal had beaten her.
The victim has sustained injuries in her face and body and necessary treatment was provided to her at Dullu hospital, informed DR Ranjana Rokaya.
Chandrakala and her husband Chandra Bahadur Sarki have three sons but they are staying apart from them for the last 11 years because none of them is taking care of the elderly couple. Accused Gopal is their second son.
The Sarki couple had received NRs. 12,000 per person from the municipality through the bank on July 11, 2021.
