Police have arrested four family members on July 12, 2021, in accusation of killing an infant.
Khushbu Mandal, 25, of Rangeli Municipality-5 had given birth to a girl on July 11. DSP Deepak Shrestha of District Police Office told INSEC that Arun Mandal, 28 (father of the baby), Nageshwar Mandal, 50 (grandfather of the baby), Urmila Mandal, 48 (grandmother of the baby) along with the mother Khusbu are accused of killing the infant immediately after the gender identification.
After giving birth, the baby was suffocated under a blanket and killed. According to the police, they tried to bury the body inside a liquor shop operated by Arun Mandal at Chandani Chowk in Rangeli Municipality-5.
The postmortem of the body was conducted at Koshi Hospital on July 12.
