The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Karnali Province Office Surkhet has provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to Sita Kumari Bhandari, 33, of Bheriganga Municipality-11, a victim of domestic violence.
INSEC Karnali Province Coordinator Narayan Subedi said that financial assistance was provided to the victim on March 23 to take her to court as per the decision of the Human Rights Aid Cell. Sita said that she went through the legal process to get a share for herself and her son and daughter.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Human Rights Cell held on March 21 requested the High Court Bar Association through Advocate Uttam Prasad Acharya, a member of the Human Rights Aid Cell, to provide free legal services to Bhandari.
Acharya, who is also the chairperson of the High Court Bar Association Surkhet, had expressed his commitment to provide free services to the victim Sita at the meeting.
