Ramesh Nayak, 40, of Lahan Municipality-5 has been sentenced to 11 years imprisonment and was also fined Rs 50,000 as compensation by the District Court, Siraha on March 18 for raping a 17-year-old girl. A bench of Justice Giriraj Gautam passed the verdict.
The victim was raped on April 15, 2019, and the complaint and the complaint was launched on April 16, 2019.
Sunita Thakur, 35, of the same place, who was involved in the incident, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined compensation of Rs 18,000 as per Section 41.6 of the Crime Victims Protection Act 2075 BS.
The victim was examined at Ram Kumar Umaprasad Hospital, Lahan on April 15.
The Area Court Office Lahanak had arrested Nayak and Sunita on April 16. The district court had remanded Nayak in custody for trial on May 15. Sunita was released on Rs 40,000 bail.
