Bhupendra Kumar Sah, 35, Acting Principal of Janata Secondary School Khurhuriya in Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 has been beaten up by chairperson of the school management committee Chitaranjan Yadav (31) and member Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (30).
According to SP Rajendra Prasad Dhamala of the District Police Office, a complaint of indecent treatment was lodged against them on October 16.
He alleged that Ram Narayan Yadav, 45, and Ram Lakhan Yadav, 45, accountant, were also mistreated and beaten by them. The teachers Bhuvaneshwari Sah and Shikha Dev had come to rescue them but were beaten by the accused.
Yadav, the chairperson of the school management committee, agreed about having a dispute over the distribution of scholarships to the students studying in private schools in Rajbiraj but denied beating them.
After school Principal Suryanarayan Yadav died of a heart attack on August 23, Sah became the acting headmaster.
Stating that the issue of scholarship distribution was just an excuse, Sah claimed that he was beaten and mistreated for not cooperating in the plan to transfer Principal Birendra Kumar Yadav from Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 Khurhuriya.
Condemning strongly in the incident, the Federation of Nepali Teachers and the Federal Teachers Forum Nepal have issued separate statements on October 16 and the Nepal National Teachers Association on October 17 and demanded action against those who insulted the teachers.
Renu Devi Yadav, a member of the school management committee, has lodged a complaint against the teachers, teachers Ram Narayan Yadav, Mahesh Yadav and accountant Ram Lakhan Yadav at the District Police Office on October 16.
