Rupesh Ram, 20, of Gonahi Rural Municipality-8 in Rautahat district has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment by the Chitwan District Court on September 29 for raping a 16-year-old girl.
A bench of Judge Hemant Rawal passed the verdict stating that the partial charge would be confirmed, informed Shreshtedar Ishwar Acharya to INSEC representative.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Chitwan on June 5, 2020, alleging that Ram had raped the girl.
Police had arrested the accused on June 12. The girl was examined at Bharatpur Hospital on June 16.
