Girl Rescued And Handed To Parents After INSEC’s Initiative

Arjun KC, 19, of Dang Tulsipur, who has known her for three months, told her that he would marry her and called to meet her on September 4, 2020.

According to the girl, one of the two youths claimed himself to be Arjun and took her to Kalakhet Bazaar on a motorcycle from the local market. According to the girl, the two who went on a bike saying there was work in Srinagar market and did not come till 9 pm so the girl stayed at the house of a local in the market.

The youths had called the her again on September 5 so she went to Srinagar but could not meet them. The girl then tried coming back home but did not get a vehicle to return home. The locals then had inquired and informed INSEC.

After INSEC informed the District Police Office, the girl was brought to the district headquarters on September 6 and counselled on child marriage and its consequence’s.

The girl’s family was angry with her and she was kept in a safe house in the district headquarters that day. The girl’s family was also informed about the nature of the incident by phone.

According to Inspector Uma Kanta Joshi of the District Police Office, the girl was handed over to her relatives on September 7 and the victim did not lodge a complaint against the accused.
