Ain Bahadur Shahi (43) aka Bijay of Kalikot district’s Rajkot municipality-4, temporarily residing at Sano Thimi was arrested on 29 June 2020 in accusation of exploding bomb at the residence of former Minister of Communication, Information and Technology, Mr. Gokul Baskota.
Shahi is Bhaktapur Disrict Secretary of Banned CPN’s led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplov). He was arrested from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1, Manohara Slum Settlment, informed DSP Dipak Giri of Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur to INSEC’s representative.
The explosion took place at the residence of the former Minister on 11 March 2020. The police has considered the accused of being the mastermind behind the blast, informed DSP Giri.
The accused’s health checkup was conducted on 30 July 2020 and the court has given seven days to investigate regarding the incident.
Before this, Tek Bahadur BK aka Abhishek, Amrit Bahadur Kumal, Laxman Sethi and Devi Bahadur Gurung has been arrested.
The District Court has released Devi Bahadur Gurung on general bail and other three are in judicial custody at Dillibazaar Prison, informed DSP Giri.
