Lantu Chaudhary (28) of Lamahi Municipality-3 was sentenced for seven years’ jail term on 14 February 2020 by the District Court for raping a 40-year-old woman.
District Justice Punaram Khanal’s trial bench declared him guilty and termed him seven years’ imprisonment with fine of Rs.40, 000.
The accused had raped the victim on 19 April 2019. Complaint was filed against him on 21 April. He was arrested on 22 April.
Health checkup of the victim was conducted on 21 April 2020 at the Lamahi Hospital.
