Mangal Sen municipality has provided land to five Badi families of Mangal Sen municipality-5 for free since they have been homeless and landless from long.
They were given 5133.75sq ft (15 Aana) of land worth 10 Lakh rupees at Mangal Sen municipality-5 Bhaisedanda. The total land was divided between five Badi families.
Naresh Bahadur Kathayat, Information Officer of the municipality informed about Prem Badi, Rewanta Badi, Supari Badi, Mamata Badi and Tanki Badi being handed with the ownership documents of the land on 31 December.
Mamata Badi said, even when the municipality has provided land, due to weak economic condition they are unable to make a house there. Tanka Badi said he is hopeful about municipality helping them to build their own house.
Mayor of the municipality, Padam Bahadur Bohora shared about the plan of helping them to build their house in minimal cost. He said there will be programs to make the Badi families self-reliant and financially sustainable.
