The metropolitan Crime Investigation Branch has confirmed that police opened fire to arrest the absconding bandit on June 7.
Police said that 39 years old Tshering Tamang of Baudhha Attarkhel , Kathmandu was shoot by police before arresting him.
He sustained a bullet injury on his right leg according to police SP Kedar Dhakal. He was charged of looting and extortion. Other accused involved in looting were arrested and he was the mastermind of looting according to police source.
Police have confirmed of firing two rounds of bullets and he is receiving treatment in Trauma Center in Kathmandu.
Police said that Tamang and his group was actively involved in looting and extortion from long time.
