An investigation committee is formed to investigate the incident of police opening fire to locals in an inebriated state. Three-member committee is formed in coordination of DSP Gyanendra Phuyal according to District Police Office of Sunsari.
The investigation committee had committed to publicize the report to public within three days of its investigation however it could not make it public due to the delay in health test report according to SP Rajan Adhikari.
On April 5, Jyaul Mansor, 30 of Narsingh Rural Municipality-8 was injured after SI Chandra Shakya of Ulti Police Post opened fire on him in an inebriated state.
SP Rajan Adhikari said that police opened fire in retaliation after the locals attacked police. According to him, SI Shakya demanded money with local Yusuf Miya while he purchased manure from India.
Injured Mansoor is receiving treatment in Dharan according to police. Locals are demanding action against SI Shakya as he was in an inebriated state while in duty.
