The District prison of Baitadi is facing crisis on managing inmates and detainees due to the overcrowding inmates and detainees.
The prison building was built almost 35 years ago and is in dilapidated condition. The building has a capacity to accommodate 25 inmates however there are 56 of them.
There are no women inmates in this prison because of unfavorable environment. They are shifted to other district prison. The prison administration said that it is hard to transport inmates to district court, hospital and district administration office because of security reason.
