The District Court of Udayapur has ordered to sentence 25 years old Rabi Lal Tamang of Katari Municipality-2 for eight years on charge of luring 14 years old girl, marrying and raping her. He was arrested and was remanded in custody. The court has also ordered for the compensation of Rs 1,50,000 to the victim from the convict.
A single bench of district court judge Tejendra Prasad Sapkota had given the verdict regarding the case.
The convict had lured the girl on July 3 , married her and raped her according to the victim’s family. The court has also charged him for child marriage. On July 6, the victim’s family lodged complaint at Area Police Office of Katari and victim underwent health checkup on a same day at District Hospital.
On a same day the convict was arrested and was remanded in custody since then by the court order on July 17.
