The district of Mugu is facing food crisis after the disruption of road after the landslide and flood followed by the incessant rainfall.
The incessant rainfall at the end of May had swept away road section in various parts of the district and due to the disruption of transportation the food shortage is in its height in the district.
The central office of food depot had allocated 18,000 quintal of rice for this fiscal year however only 15,000 quintal was supplied.
After the shortage, beneficiaries are compelled to buy rice paying higher price. Some of the food are being transported using horse and porter however it is not enough for the people. Local Karna Singh Buda of Chayanath Rara Municipality-10 said that he came to Gamgadhi in search for food and had to return empty handed after he could not buy food.
