The National Human Rights Commission has shown its concern on the apathy shown by the police to arrest the convict of infant killing in Mahottari. The team of NHRC from province 2 has reached the house of the victim’s family at Aurahi to investigate the killing of eight months old Sonali Chaudhary.
A team of Bir Bahadur Budamagar, chief of NHRC province 2 and Human Rights officer Deep Yadav reached the victim’s family on September 4.
Sonali Chaudhary, an eight months old girl was killed after abduction on August 26. Locals are agitated after police could not arrest the convict. The team of NHRC has met with the police administration of Mahottari.
The locals have given ultimatum until September 5 to arrest the convict and postponed their agitation.
Somali was abducted on August 26 whileshe was playing in her mother’s lap. Her body was recovered next day near the mango field.
