The first women detention centre of Parbat, which was under construction, could not be built after the allocated budget could not be issued.
The building was started to be constructed nine years ago and the construction is affected due to the lack of budget.
The building has a capacity to accommodate 15 detainees. Only 1.4 million out of 7.2 million has been issued. The whole construction process has been affected after the remaining budget could not be issued according to the jailer Mohan Prasad Upadhyaya of Parbat.
Not even 10 percent of the work has been completed and it is pending. This women detention center is supposed to be the first detention center throughout the whole Dhaulagiri zone which can cover the detainees from Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang.
The district prison of Parbat has a capacity to accommodate 25 inmates and detainees however there are 78 inmates and detainees according to jailer Upadhyaya.
