The conflict victims of Ghorahi sub-metropolis-17, Bargaddi have demanded for to build memorial of the victims who were massacred during the armed conflict. They have put the banner at the incident site and demanded for the memorial.
The conflict victims who were presented at the incident site on July 27 have said that they have put the banner to exert pressure on local administration as the incident site is a historical place.
During the armed conflict in 2001 November 28, 11 farmers working at the paddy field in Bargaddi were shot dead by the army personnel charging them of being maoist insurgents.
“Our relatives were shot dead in this place and we want a memorialto be constructed in this place which is our demand” says victim Bhoni Chaudhary,38 who hadlost her husband Khusi Ram Tharu in a same incident. The incident site is being sold by plotting it and we need this place to make memorial, she said.
Khushi Ram Chaudhary, Jag Man Chaudhary, Prasad Chaudhary, Ramu Chaudhary, Sitlal Chaudhary, Krishna Chaudhary, Asha Ram Chaudhary, Songra Chaudhary and Rit Man Chaudhary were massacred in this place during the armed conflict in suspicion of being maoist insurgent.
