The District Court of Siraha has ordered to sentence 50 years old Dorik Thakur of Lahan Municipality-18 for eight years after finding him guilty on raping 14 years old girl.
A single bench of District Court judge Sudarshan Raj Pandey had given the verdict regarding the case. The court has also ordered for the compensation of Rs 25,000 from the convict.
The victim’s party had lodged complaint at District Police Office on October 10 against the accused on charge of rape on October 9.
The victim underwent health checkup at Ram Kumar Uma Prasad Hospital on October 10.
The accused was arrested by the Area Police Office of Lahan on October 9 and was remanded in custody by the court order on November 2.
