The District prison of Baitadi is facing crisis on management of inmates and detainees due to the dilapidated condition of the prison building. The prison building was built in 1983.
Jailer Anil Kumar Tiwari said that the prison including the building for security personnel is in very dilapidated condition raising the security issue of the prisoners.
The prison is facing crisis on drinking water according to the administration. The concerned authority has been informed about the issue however it is not addressed yet.
The prison building has capacity to accommodate 25 inmates and detainees however there are 39 inmates and detainees. The building is facing leaking roof according to one of the inmate.
The inmates and detainees are facing various issues due to the poor management and dilapidated condition of the prison building.
