The earthquake victims of Ramechhap are living a same pathetic life even after three years anniversary of devastating earthquake in 2015. The reconstruction work is very slow in the district.
The earthquake has destroyed more than 55,000 houses. But, during these three months, only 13,000 private shelters have been re constructed. Majority of the victims are still living under the tent with pathetic life.
According to information management expert Surendra Yadav, until now, 13,000 victims have put roof in their house. Similarly, putting base on 29,227 houses have been started of which 29031 houses have already received 1,00,000 as a second installment of grant amount.
In the district, 14,500 victims have complained of not being included in beneficiaries list. Similarly, there is shortage of efficient manpower and water leading the delaying in reconstruction work according to District Project Implementation Unit of Ramechhap.
