The District Court of Kalikot has ordered to sentence Chakra Bahadur Singh, 26 of Mahawai Rural Municipality-3 and Putti Malla, 20 of Khandchakra Municipality-9 on charge of polygamy. The court has also ordered to penalize them Rs 5,000.
A single bench of District Court judge Krishna Murari Siwakoti had given a verdict regarding the case on March April 1.
Chakra Bahadur married Putti Malla on July 13 and her first wife lodged a complaint at DPO on July 25.
Both accused were at large after the incident according to DSP Subash Chandra Bohara of DPO Kalikot.
