The District Election Office of Dolpa said that out of 66 polling centers, 22 are categorized as sensitive in Dolpa in security point of view.
The security sensitive polling centers all are in upper Dolpa according to the office.
In Dolpa, there are 18,767 voters in 66 polling centers. Election officer Bikram Giri said that in each ward one polling center is included based on geographical remoteness.
The upper Dolpa is out of communication since years. There are no communication services in Charkatangsong, Dolpo, Buddha, Shephoksundo area.
” It takes seven days to reach upper Dolpa from the district headquarter and due to the remoteness, there is no possibility of communication,” said polling officer Giri.
Meanwhile, the election activities in upper Dolpa have been affected due to the massive snow fall. Normally, the snow fall starts in this area from first week of November. The voter’s education has been affected due to the decreasing temperature in this area. The District election office said that the polling staffs will reach the area within 4,5 days. The political parties are not being able to do their political activities due to the cold weather.
