The locals in Limi of remote rural municipality of the district are compelled to consume expired medicine due to the lack of health workers assigned in the local health organization.
It has been revealed that in health organizations of Namkha rural municipality-6, date expired medicine were being distributed to the patients.
Local Pemasange Tamang said that they do not have any option rather than consuming the expired medicine as they do not have any alternatives for the treatment.
Local Amchi Tamang , store keeper of the medicine , said that she do not have any knowledge of the expired medicine. She is just distributing for normal headache and fever.
In last financial year, some health workers were seen in the building however, they returned within few days according to Tamang.
Medicines like Amjit, Paracitamol etc were expired on December. District Hospital of Jumla is ignorant about the situation and denied speaking about it.
