Udaya Narayan Dahal, 34, a mental health patient of Terhathum Aathrai Rural Municipality-6, Chihandada is living his life inside the iron cage since five years.
The family had locked him inside the cage after he could not get timely treatment and started to perform some unsocial activities.
Neighbors said that he used to work in foreign employment and after he lost his mental state he was locked inside the cage for a long time. He is given food inside the cage and 4 to 5 youth from his village gives him a bath once a week according to his family members.
According to the family source he lost his mental state after he failed to pay loan while he was in gulf country for foreign employment.
Previously he received treatment in Kathmandu, but his mental situation did not improved. He was locked up in a cage like an animal after his social behavior was getting worst.
His family said that lot of money is already spent for his treatment and they are in hope that he will get better if he receives proper treatment. The family members also pleaded for financial support for his treatment.
