The patients of Sinja Rural Municipality have said that they are in severe crisis after not getting even Citamol from the Area Health Post in Narakot. There has been a medicine crisis in the health organizations of Jumla.
Health In charge Prem Bom said that the health post is compelled to send patient empty handed after the severe shortage in medicine.
Local Kamala Buda said that patients are returning back home with empty handed despite of government announcement of providing quality services in health sector. She added that they are compelled to go to pharmacy to buy medicine paying a high price. There has been shortages in Vitamins and iron capsule for pregnant women since long time.
She complained that there is not even Citamol in health organization. The government has decided to provide 35 types of medicine for free in health centers but there are no medicine at all.
District Health Office of Jumla said that the crisis is due to the supply of medicine just once a year.
Sinja Rural Municipality chief Debal Singh Rawat said that meeting will be held regarding the medicine crisis and initiation will be taken for the supply of medicine.
According to INSEC district representative there are even shortages in health professionals in health posts of the district. Health professionals are absent in the health posts for a long time.
