The District Security Body has categorized 232 polling stations out of 258 as sensitive in terms of security point of view.
Out of these, 135 polling stations are categorized as very sensitive and 97 as sensitive. In Mahottari district, 26 polling stations are tagged to be normal from security point of view.
At about 70% of western and southern territory of the district is bordering with India this is why 232 polling stations are tagged as sensitive.
At about 40 Km border are open with India which can have a security threat for the district and most of the polling stations are tagged to be sensitive.
SP Kuber Kadayat of District Police Office of Mahottari said that the security in each polling stations has been tightened.
This time 2600 policemen are added and will be mobilized for the election. SP Kadayat said that especial security strategy has been made for the bordering polling stations.
Pre-election mobile patrolling is operating in the district according to DPO Mahottari.
Chief District Officer Babu Ram Shrestha said that the administration is working hard to create peace and harmony in the district during the election and added that the administration is well prepared for the election on September 18.
According to the chief District Election Officer Pinki Rai, there are 258 polling stations and 515 polling centers in the district. Total of 29 parties have registered for the election. There are 3,13,357 voters in the district.
