The patients in remote part of Darchula district are facing difficulties after the tele-medicine service has been closed since four years in District Hospital. The tele-medicine service has been interrupted since 2013 after the District Hospital was destroyed by the flood.
Tele-medicine is the technology to provide treatment by consulting through internet and this service has been interrupted since four years. The machine has been rusted and it is out of order.
At present, patients are compelled to go to India for treatment. The one and only x-ray machine of the district hospital is also out of order according to Dr Rabi Ranjan Shah.
The machine has been demanded however it could not be provided yet.
