The investigation team formed by Home Ministry in coordination of assistant secretary Deepak Kafle for investigating the death of four girls from the same family by drowning in a ditch in a road has reached Rautahat for the investigation. The team has also observed the incident site at Garuda on August 8.
The government team includes chief of eastern road division office, Mukti Gautam and DIG Pushpa Ranjit of Nepal Police. Coordinator assistant secretary Kafle said that the report will be based on reaction from local administration and local people.
Meanwhile, the NHRC investigation team has also begun their probing. The regional office of NHRC Janakpur team has reached the incident site.
On August 5, four daughters of Ram Ekbal Shah of Garuda Municipality-4 died after drowning in the ditch near the road. The locals protested and agitated against the death of girls demanding the action against the accused involved. The government has formed the investigation committee after the parliament was obstructed demanding the investigation of the incident.
