Shortages of Anti-Rabies Vaccine

The beneficiaries at Limbini Zonal Hospital are facing crisis after the crunch in anti-rabies vaccine in the hospital.

According to the hospital source, up to 15 patients comes to the hospital in a daily basis for anti-rabies vaccine. The information Officer of the hospital Laxmi Raj Regmi said that the patients could not be provided with vaccine due to its shortage.

The hospital is in need of 1500 to 2000 anti-rabies vaccine medicine in a month according to Regmi.

According to the hospital data, in previous financial year, the hospital had provided vaccine to 3,948 patients. Due to the disruption in anti-rabies vaccine, patients are compelled to pay higher price in private clinic.
