The inmates of the district prison of Gulmi are happy after getting training on making chairs and clothes stitching. The training was operated for one and half month with a financial support from Domestic and small industry development committee. At least 24 inmates and detainees had gained skills in the training.
According to the senior chief industry officer Krishna Prasad Pokharel, the inmates and detainees were given training to make chair, temple, racks, photo frames and pain stand from bamboo. Inmate Nara Bahadur Gurung said that the training has helped to develop their skills. According to the prison chief Gopal Prasad Pandey, the inmates and detainees are gaining good skills. The district prison of Gulmi is “C” graded and there are 66 inmates and detainees in the prison.
