Mal nutrition unified management program of the district said that from July to October this year, at least 249 children out of 1311 are suffering from severe mal nutrition.
There is Fast Malnutrition Management program operated in Ratapani Primary Health Center, Khanaya, Nathrpu, Magri, Shrekot , Kalai health Post and District Health Hospital by the governmet.
The severe malnutrition is seen among 249 children however 40 boys and 54 girls were already treated according to Lok Bahadur B.K, Moniter of Fast Malnutrition Unified Management Program. Last year malnutrition was seen on 12.62% of the children under five years. It has been predicted that the number might increase this year.
In almost 24 VDCs of the distrcit, the District Health Office has operated program related to malnutrition through women volunteer. The District Health Office said that the goverment is planning to make this district malnutrition-free until 2020.
Health awareness program is being operated in the district by various organizations despite of which children are suffering from severe malnutrition due to the lack of timely awareness to the children and lack of health personnel in health posts.
