Srijana Karki (Khadka), 22 of Triyuga Municipality-5 is compelled to live in a chain in absence of treatment. Karki, a mental patient, is tied in a chain who is also an eight months pregnant. She is living in a crisis after her husband left her in two months pregnancy and her paternal party ignored her.
An elderly father-in-law is looking after her. Her Father-in-law Bhim Bahadur Khadka said “we don’t know the whereabouts of our son and how can we old people look after her?”.
She was married three years ago. Her paternal relatives are not giving any interest on her said Bhim Bahadur. He further said that they have been informed about her illness however no one has turned up yet.
Bhim Bahadur said that she had a treatment in 2014 at Lalitpur mental Hospital. She was told to take a regular medicine however due to the economic condition they could not give her medicine.
She has a deep wound on her leg which is getting worst said Khadka. She has been taken to District hospital with the help of various organisation on August 10 after her pregnancy became more critical.
