The beneficiaries of Khatyaad Rural Municipality- 1, Masane; have been facing difficulty for the last two months due to the shortage of medicine in the health posts.
Banch Bahadur Budha, 60, from Khatyaad Rural Municipality-1 lamented that he had been suffering from fever and diarrhea for the past one month. Due to the shortage of medicine around his residence, he was compelled to buy medicine from a private medical shop in Mathichaur which lied two hours away from his locality.
Similarly, Sita Budha, 28 from Nigalbot shared that she had to return home empty-handed on August 4 after not getting the medicine in the health post.
Nandalal Budha, in charge of the Health post, explained that, following a month-long shortage of medicine, they have sent a letter to the health branch of Khatyaad Rural Municipality demanding the essential medicines.
Tanka Dangar, coordinator of Khatyaad Rural Municipality’s health branch clarified that the damaged roads in different places are the reason behind the slow delivery of the medicines.
