Police have arrested Dawa Sherpa, 22, of Hangdeva in Fungling Municipality-9 on June 9, 2021, on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl.
The victim was raped on February 2021 and according to Inspector Kailash Kumar Adhikari of the District Police Office, the victim had lodged a complaint against the accused on June 9.
Inspector Adhikari said that the accused was arrested for investigation on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim.
The uncle of the victim informed the INSEC representative that the complaint was lodged against the accused after finding out that the accused had taken her out of the district for abortion.
The girl has been examined at the District Hospital on June 10.
