INSEC Provides Aid to Person with Disabilities

INSEC has assisted the family of Surya Nepali, 52, of Bhanu Municipality-2, Phusretar. They were provided with food items.

INSEC Tanahu Representative Prakash Chandra Bhattarai and Bhanu Municipality Human Rights Group members Sita Adhikari and Khim Kumari Gurung reached Nepali’s house on June 9, 2021, and provided a sack of rice and a month’s supply of food.

Nepali has visual and hearing disability. He had been living by begging. His wife Kalimaya Nepali, 48, is also physically unwell.

After the second wave of COVID-19, he was unable to go begging as prohibitory order was issued in Bhanu municipality. In a virtual meeting of the human rights group Bhanu Municipality held on June 9, a discussion was held about Nepali’s condition after which food aid has been provided to his family on the same day.

Brother of Surya, Prem Bahadur Nepali said that his, financial condition is very futile and Surya used to stay near the municipal office to beg and make a living from the money collected from it.

He said that the neighbours sometimes helped him when he had difficulty getting food in the morning and evening due to the road closure.

According to Prem, the food received from INSEC and human rights groups has comforted his brother’s family for a month now.
