The employees of Bhanu Municipality have been protesting after Hom Bahadur Bhandari, 45, an employee and resident of Bhanu Municipality and Milan Ranamagar, 25, an employee of Municipal police from Bhanu Municipality were misbehaved by some locals who were provoked by the people’s representative. They were misbehaved on April 4, 2021.
The employees of the municipality issued a press release and suspended their work on April 4, saying that their colleagues were misbehaved by some people under the leadership and provocation of the people’s representative.
They have alleged that a group led by Arjun Bahadur Khadka, Chairperson of Bhanu Municipality ward no. 2, harassed the victims and called the police while they were taking some tables and chairs from the former office of the municipality to the new office of the municipality.
Chairperson of the Bhanu Municipal Employees’ Union, Shankar Ranabhat, informed that some locals led by the ward chairperson misbehaved while trying to take some tables and chairs to the municipal office customs from a vehicle with a private number plate.
Ranabhat said that that this incident has hampered the prestige of all the civil servants and the municipality would suspend its work until the accused apologized for the incident.
Kripahari Laudari, Section Officer of the municipality, said that the guilty party should apologize for the ill-treatment of the employees and the safety of the employees should be guaranteed.
Likewise, the Nepal Civil Servants Association, Tanahu, has issued a press release on April 4 stating that their serious attention has been drawn to the incident.
The organization has also demanded to arrest the accused involved in the incident and take legal action.
Khadka, the chairperson of Ward No. 2, who was accused of being involved in the incident, could not be reached for a response.
