District court has sentenced Resham Bahadur Karki, 39, of Dharapani in Shuklagand Municipality-7 to six months in jail for sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
A bench of Tanahun District Court Judge Basudev Poudel convicted the accused and sentenced him to six months imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 as compensation on April 13, 2021.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Tanahu on October 7, 2021, alleging that the accused had mistreated the victim.
After the victim’s complaint, the accused was arrested on the same day and a case was registered against the accused on October 8 under the Attempted Rape.
