The district court of Baglung has declared eight years’ imprisonment to an 18-year-old boy for raping a 14-year-old girl.
The bench of Judge Basudev Neupane declared him guilty on April 19, 2021, under Sub-section 3 of Section 36 of the Children’s Act 2075. The guilty were also charged NRs. 60,000 as compensation, informed Surya Prasad Bhandari, information officer of Baglung District Court.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Baglung on October 31, 2021, alleging that the accused had raped her.
After the complaint of the victim, the accused was arrested and produced before the District Court, Baglung on November 22. The accused was sent to Sarangkot Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre on November 23.
According to Bhandari, Information Officer at the District Court, Baglung, the accused will stay in the juvenile centre after the court’s verdict.
