The District Court of Illam has declared 10 years’ imprisonment to Mani Kumar Rai (25) of Mai municipality-3 for raping a 15-year-old girl.
The trial bench of judge Harish Chandra Ingnam declared the accused of being guilty for the act and also charged compensation of rs 40 thousand, informed Shrestedar Dil Kumar Bardewa to INSEC’s representative in a phone conversation.
The victim was raped on 19 August 2019 and the complaint was filed against the accused on 4 September 2019.
The accused was arrested on the day of the complaint and further action was taken. The accused was taken under judicial custody on 9 October 2019.
A health checkup of the victim was conducted on 4 September 2019.
