A complaint has been lodged against 32-year-old Ravi Kepchaki Magar of Bagmati Rural Municipality-7, Gimdi for raping a 15-year-old girl at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Chapagaun on March 16, 2021.
According to the Chapagaun Police Circle, the victim’s relatives lodged a complaint against the accused alleging that she was raped on January 9, 2021.
The relatives of the victim said that the victim was afraid to file the complaint therefore, it took time.
The child helpline received information about the incident with the help of school friends of the victim and the police arrested the accused on March 10 on the basis of a complaint lodged by the helpline.
However, the police had started the investigation by keeping the accused in custody saying that the accused had misbehaved when the police tried to arrest him. The accused is the teacher of a local school where the victim studied.
According to SP Prajwal Maharjan of Lalitpur Metropolitan Police, the accused has been remanded in custody for seven days by the Lalitpur District Court on March 15.
The victim was examined at Patan Hospital on March 15.
