The 10-Day Session of the National Assembly Ends

The winter session of the upper house of the federal parliament of the National Assembly ended at the midnight on January 10.

The convention was concluded by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on the basis of the recommendations made by the cabinet meeting on January 10.

The convention, which started on January 1, lasted for only 10 days. In the meantime, four sittings of the House were held and 7 hours and 5 minutes were spent in the House, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

The government had introduced seven ordinances in this session of the National Assembly. According to the Parliament Secretariat, the session ended without any discussion in the seventh session.

The ordinances presented were: Constitutional Council (Work, Duties, Rights and Procedures) Ordinance (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2077, Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Ordinance, 2077, Nepal Police and Province Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2077 and Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2077 was tabled in the National Assembly. Similarly, the government had introduced the Drugs (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2077, Ordinance to amend some Acts against Sexual Violence, 2077 and Ordinance to amend some Acts related to Criminal Offenses and Criminal Procedure, 2077.
