A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced to 19 years and 4 months in prison by the district court for abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl.
The bench of Judge Chandramani Gyawali sentenced the accused to eight years imprisonment for rape and four years and eight months imprisonment for abduction and was also fined Rs 46,646. Also he has been additionally sentenced to six years and eight months and fined Rs 66,666.
It has been decided that the accused should pay a lump sum compensation of Rs 50,000 to the victim.
According to the district court, after serving a maximum of eight years in prison, the accused does not have to serve a minor sentence, but has to serve an additional sentence.
When the accused are sentenced to two-thirds imprisonment if they are juvenile. The accused has to pay the fine and compensation.
The victim’s father had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Saptari on December 18, 2018 alleging that the accused had abducted the girl and raped her on December 11, 2018.
According to the victim, the accused abducted the victim from the village and took her to Itahari in Sunsari.
The girl was examined at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj on December 18.
The District Court had arrested the accused on December 19 and registered a complaint against him.
