A complaint was filed against Jasmul Miya (30) of Hanuman Nagar Kankalini-6 Joginiya Muslim Tole on 14 May at the District Police Office in accusation of raping a 27-year-old woman.
The victim was raped on 20 March 2020 and the complaint was filed on 21 March 2020 at the Area Police Office Hanuman Nagar and later at the District Police Office on 24 March 2020.
Health checkup of the victim was conducted on 21 March 2020 at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital on 30 March 2020.
The accused had also taken away the victim’s jewellery and threw away her sim card.
Due to the lockdown, the formalities of filing the complaint was delayed, informed DSP Tilak Bharati. After two months, the police have started an investigation on the case.
