In Koshi Rural Municipality-1, near the Armed Police Base Camp BOP, Laukahi, the situation has become tense in the Laukahi area of the East-West Highway, Inaruwa–Itahari road section, after Bijay Shah, 45, from the same place, died at 1 a.m. on January 1, 2026, due to gunfire by the Armed Police.
The situation became tense after locals placed the body on the East-West Highway in Laukahi and protested.
INSEC is conducting on-site monitoring regarding the incident.
After the locals protested, the police fired tear gas along with aerial shots in the tense area of the incident site.
