Police have arrested five people on the charge of firing and killing Prachanda Dev Singh, 36, of Barekot Rural Municipality-8 on December 29, 2025. The arrested are Indra Bahadur Singh, 45, Meem Bahadur Singh, 54, Rajiv Shahi, 24, Janak Karki, 44, Lal Bahadur Singh, 31, all from Barekot Rural Municipality-8.
According to DSP Basantkumar Sharma of the District Police Office, following a complaint that the deceased Prachanddev and five others were killed while hunting in the Mirikot Khara forest of Barekot Rural Municipality–8 on December 28, five accused were arrested along with three firearms. The post-mortem of the body was conducted the next day h at Dalli Municipal Hospital. The family received the body and performed the final rites on December 30 at Beriamapu.
