A complaint of killing has been filed against Shiva Kumar Mahato, 30 and his father Ramdalar Mahato, 64 for allegedly killing Anshu Kumari Mahato,23, of Bateshwar Rural Municipality-1, Chitrpur, on September 29, 2025. The complaint was filed by the victim’s maternal family on October 1, at the District Police Office.
According to SP Narahari Regmi, the family filed the complaint citing suspicion over Anshu’s death. Anshu was seven months pregnant at the time. Anshu, who was married two years ago, had reportedly been subjected to repeated abuse by her husband’s family, as per her younger sister Aakriti Kumari Mahato. The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted on October 1, at the Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham.
