Two Inmates Who Escaped During Protest Arrested in Rupandehi

Police arrested two inmates on 18 and 19 November from different locations in Rupandehi. They had escaped from various prisons during the protests on September 8 and 9. According to DSP Suraj Karki of the District Police Office, those arrested are Rudra Bahadur Pun,50, of Tilottama Municipality-3, an accused in a rape case who had escaped from Nawalparasi District Jail, and Dipak Kumar,20, of Nautanwa, Maharajganj District, India, who had fled from Tanahun District Jail in a drug-related case. Pun was arrested on 18 November, while Dipak Kumar was arrested from Bhairahawa on 19 November.

DSP Karki stated that the absconding inmates have been taken into custody by the District Police Office, Rupandehi, and its subordinate units, and handed over to the respective jails.
