Eleven Escaped Inmates Arrested in Panchthar

Eleven inmates who escaped from various jails during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9 were arrested in Panchthar. The District Police Office stated that the prisoners fled after vandalism and arson broke out in the jails and were subsequently re-arrested by police teams deployed from various police posts in the district.

According to DSP Anish Kumar Karna of the District Police Office, the arrested include: Panendra Tamang, 45, from Kummayak Rural Municipality-1,Binaya Nembang, 36, from Phidim Municipality-1,  Gopal Bohora, 40, from Tumwewa Rural Municipality-5, Mangal Sing Tumbapo, 30, from Phidim Municipality-5, Chakra Tamang, 29, from Hilihang Rural Municipality-7, Santabir Lawati, 51, from Miklajung Rural Municipality-5, Desbahadur Tamang, 51, from Falgunanda Rural Municipality-3, Rajendra Pariyar, 40, from Phidim Municipality-1, Kiran Pokhrel, 22, from Hilihang Rural Municipality-4, Milan Thamsuhang, 35, from Phidim Municipality-12, Udesh Nugo, 23, from Yangwarak Rural Municipality-3.

Among those arrested, Binaya Nembang, also known as Chandra, had escaped from Nakkhu Jail in Kathmandu, while the remaining 10 had fled from Jhumka Jail in Sunsari, police confirmed.
