A complaint regarding the offense of rape was filed at the Area Police Office, Butwal, on April 21.
Based on the complaint filed by the survivor’s family, police arrested the accused at his home on April 20 and initiated legal proceedings. The survivor underwent a medical examination at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal, on April 20. The accused is currently being held at the Bhairahawa Juvenile Correction Home pending trial.
During a meeting with INSEC representatives, the survivor’s mother stated that the girl’s father had passed away eight years ago, the family is economically vulnerable, and they belong to an extremely poor household. She further alleged that her minor daughter had been subjected to repeated sexual abuse.
